To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be immigrants or children of immigrants. Specifically:โ
If born abroad as a non-U.S. citizen, the applicant must be a naturalized U.S. citizen, possess a valid green card, have been granted refugee or asylee status, or have graduated from both high school and college in the United States (inclusive of DACA recipients).โ
If born in the U.S., both parents must have been born abroad as non-U.S. citizens and were not eligible for U.S. citizenship at the time of their births.
Applicants should be planning to enroll full-time in an eligible, accredited graduate or professional degree program in the U.S. for the 2026-2027 academic year. Those already in graduate school must not have started the third year of their program as of the application deadline. Online programs are now eligible for funding
Selected fellows will be announced publicly in April of 2026 and they will begin to receive stipend and tuition support from the program in the fall of 2026.
